De Heilbron is sustainable and committed
De Heilbron is committed to its guests, but also to nature and society. We do this by doing business in a sustainable way. For example, we work together with regional entrepreneurs. We have an eye for nature and our environment, both socially and economically. You notice all this:
Electricity and heat
With 77 solar panels and 8 solar collectors on the roofs of the Heilbron, we provide most of our own electricity and heat. In winter our sustainable pellet stove supports the heat supply.
Catering industry
The coffee and tea we serve carries a quality mark. The milk is organic.
Recycling
The most sustainable solution for waste is separation. That is why we collect waste separately as much as possible. As a result, paper, glass, plastic and residual waste produce new raw materials. Our guests help with this separation, but we also work with separated waste streams outside of them.
Responsible choices
We only use FSC and PEFC certified wood and paper. For everything from letters, brochures and copying paper to toilet paper.
Our Guests
We are pleased that you as a guest also contribute to sustainability during your stay at the Heilbron. For example by:
- Switching off the lights in the rooms you are not in
- Use only the water you need
- At night and when you are away turn the thermostat down
- Waste separation
Green Key Certification
De Heilbron aims for certification by Green Key. This is the international quality mark for sustainable companies in the leisure and recreation sector. The certificate means that De Heilbron integrates sustainability into its entire business operations. From waste separation to sustainable cleaning and economical use of raw materials. Think also of green maintenance, transport, regional products and sustainable purchasing.
